How to use the Electricity Bill Calculator
- Enter the units used this month (from your bill or meter).
- Choose un-protected, protected or lifeline as shown on your bill.
- Enter your sanctioned load in kW and the fuel adjustment (FPA) per unit if you know it.
- Read the estimated bill with each charge listed.
How it's calculated
Show the formula
GST = 18% of (energy + FPA + FC surcharge + duty) · plus fixed charge (per kW) and Rs 35 PTV fee
Un-protected homes pay one rate on all units, set by the month's total usage. Protected homes (200 units or less for the past 6 months) get cheaper rates and one previous slab benefit. Fixed charges depend on sanctioned load. Going from 200 to 201 units can raise the whole bill sharply, so watch the slab limits.

Tips
- Staying at 200 units or less for six months keeps you a protected consumer with much lower rates.
- Un-protected rates apply to every unit, so 201 units can cost far more than 199.
- Run heavy appliances like ACs and irons outside peak hours if you have a time-of-use meter.
Frequently asked questions
What is a protected consumer?
A household that used 200 units or less in each of the last six months. Protected consumers pay lower rates and get one previous slab benefit.
Why is my real bill different?
Bills also include monthly fuel adjustment (FPA), quarterly adjustment (QTA), arrears and sometimes different provincial duty. Enter the FPA from your bill for a closer estimate.
Does this work for LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO and K-Electric?
Yes. Domestic rates are uniform across Pakistan, so the same slabs apply to all distribution companies.
What is the fixed charge?
A monthly charge per kilowatt of sanctioned load, which depends on your usage slab. It is charged even if you use few units.
